Tineke as an actor
However, since every assignment required actors and we lacked the resources to hire them initially, I often found myself in front of the camera. At first, I winced at the sight of myself on screen and felt uneasy being filmed.
Yet, with time, I learned to project confidence on screen, gradually growing accustomed to seeing my face and embracing the challenge of embodying different characters. While I never considered myself technically inclined, I found myself naturally gravitating towards acting roles in smaller projects and began to experiment with the craft more and more.
As my interest in acting blossomed and my directing skills evolved, I discovered the power of storytelling from both sides of the camera. With each project, I honed my abilities and received positive feedback from my peers and mentors.
Eventually, I mustered the courage to audition for roles outside of school projects. Even within my filmmaker network, others began to take notice of my work and sought me out for their own projects. It’s truly fulfilling to explore the diverse facets of filmmaking and storytelling, nurturing my craft with each new endeavor.
I eagerly look forward to sharing more of my upcoming projects with you and embracing larger opportunities as they arise in the future.
